Of course, just having all that land and a few goats and pigs is only the beginning. Don’t forget that not only are you planting seeds and cultivating them, but slaughtering the animals and dressing the meat too (if you eat meat). I suppose you could pay for someone else to butcher your meat if you were squeamish.

In my ENVS class, we had a conference call with Gretchen Legler (author of On the Ice) that is doing work in Bhutan. She informed us on this social problem that has been in a ‘peaceful’ country for years. In a country where women are suppose to follow rules and obey, Kesang Chhoden is standing out and addressing to the public and country of this issue that needs to stop..
